The Excitement Of SOBCon 08 Extends Even To Those Not Going
I’m excited about the SOBCon 08 conference and I’m not even going.
Liz Strauss of Successful Blog is known as “the relationship blogger” and she certainly knows how to throw a party. Liz is organizing SOBCon 08. She has a few pals helping of course. It’s that sort of conference. It’s about relationships that have started in the comment box, by phone, tweets or other interaction and extended into something more.
By the end of the conference, those relationships will have developed into strong bonds, connections and maybe even joint projects. I can just imagine the great meetup of people you know but have never met. Putting faces to names would be fun. I can feel the energy there already. Have you met up with any bloggers in person after you’ve met online?
I’d especially love to go to the Biz School For Bloggers action plan sessions. I read about some of the SOBCon 07 sessions 07 but there’s nothing like actually like being in the middle of the action in the then and there.
Easton Ellsworth of Visionary Blogging is posting spotlight bios of bloggers attending on the SOBCon 08 site. That’s such a great idea. I recognize a lot of the names such as Scot Herrick, Kristen King and Brad Shorr and others. I wish I could meet them all in person. It would be like a big reunion with people you’ve never met. I imagine it would be a bit surreal… weird but exciting. Maybe next year.

Update: Michelle Vandepas has set up a Live Podcast Radio Show for the Conference and will be interviewing bloggers. You can phone in and ask questions. Great stuff Michelle. I’ve heard Michelle’s radio show before and she asks great questions.

Yvonne, I don’t think anyone has stepped up to be the unofficial conversation leader for those not attending. You could probably be that person pretty easily. We can Skype chat or exchange emails and see how you might be able to do something like that and still feel as much a part of the conference as possible.
