Blog Mastermind Review #2

When I first announced I’d joined Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind mentoring program, I also promised to keep you updated. Here is my second progress report. Judging by the response and interest I’ve had, a lot of people are thinking about joining Blog Mastermind, but want to know more.

Disclosure

I can only share my own experience and thoughts, but you can be assured of an honest review. If you find this information useful and decide to join, I’d really appreciate you considering signing up through my Blog Mastermind affiliate link.

Blog Mastermind - Early Days

It’s early days yet, but I’m very happy with it so far. My original thought was to stick with it for 3 months. But now I plan to continue for about 6 months, at least, if not go the distance. While it’s self paced, you get a lesson per week, except from memory, the second one comes 2 weeks after. You have tasks to do each week, and implement what they say on your blog.

The first two lessons are pretty much a refresher blogging wise, unless you are a new blogger. The business and professional blogging mindset information were definitely valuable. I concentrated on absorbing the numerous audios and videos in the resources section. I’ve downloaded the audios to my iPod. New resources are added regularly. Yaro is very generous with information and sources for how he does things himself, internet marketing, what resources he uses etc.

Blog Mastermind also has an advanced track. You can apply to join the advanced track (free) after lesson 3 (week 3), or leave it till later, when you are ready. The first lesson for this is by Daniel Scocco of Daily Blog Tips fame. I’m on Lesson 4, but still want to go back to parts of Lesson 3, so I’ll leave the advanced lessons for a little while. While each lesson builds on the one before, they are not necessarily linear, as you can go back and forth between lessons to consolidate or refresh. At least, that’s what’s working for me.

Blog Mastermind - A Change of Mindset

For me, Blog Mastermind is largely a change of mindset, from being a hobby “put my toe in the water” blogger, to treating it like a business. I was getting information overload with everything I was researching pre Blog Mastermind, and still not implementing it. Doing it this way is a fast track focused way to approach it, plus I don’t think I’d have easy access to all the information ouside Blog Mastermind. This may not be the case for advanced, experienced bloggers.

Networking & Blog Feedback Benefits

The networking and seeing how others do things is invaluable. This is one of the strengths of Blog Mastermind. These are all people who are serious about blogging, and making an income from their blogs. You can submit your blog to be considered for a video case study. The private Blog Mastermind forum is largely self managed with the mentors (Yaro & Daniel Scocco) only popping in now and again, so not every question gets answered, but the other Blog Mastermind members are very helpful. Sometimes Yaro does a Q & A audio, gathering related questions from the forum. I do find the forum itself a bit hard to follow and somewhat cumbersome.

Is Blog Mastermind Worth the Money?

I guess the main thing you need to consider with whether Blog Mastermind is worth it for you, is where you are heading with your blogging, and what your goals are. For me, the audio and video resources and access to the forum were well worth one month’s fee in terms of information, mindset, and getting a glimpse into the program. If you scour the forum you can see discussion on upcoming lessons. While I suggest signing up for 1 month, and you can walk away with lots of useful resources and insights, to be realistic, if you are serious about giving it a go, I’d say you need a minimum of 3 months to decide.

Is Blog Mastermind for You?

Again, I’m speaking only for myself, as everyone is different. It’s a significant amount of money, so I don’t like to say a blanket “you should do it”. I am very serious about building a blog or two as an income stream, so this was the kickstart I needed. I just need to keep up the momentum now. The hardest part (no excuses) has been to write ongoing pillar (key) articles. Blog Mastermind has made me realize a lot of things I could be doing better, plus quite a few things I’m doing right, which has also been affirming.

Basically, it boils down to what your blog goals are. Like any program or learning, you will only see results if you are ready to make the commitment, time wise and mindset wise. It’s all about implementing what you learn. If you haven’t read Blog Profits Blueprint, that’s a free useful resource from Blog Mastermind to get you started.

Keep Your Questions and Comments Coming

While it would be unethical of me to disclose specifics, if you have any questions or comments, I’d love to hear them. I will do my best to answer them in a general, but hopefully informative way in future posts. I know a lot of you are considering joining Blog Mastermind. What do you hope to get out of it? Where are you heading with your blog? What are your blog goals?
