Wednesday Web Wanderings

The Power of Story

Easton Ellsworth has once again pulled a rabbit out of his magic blogger’s hat, and reminded us of the power of telling a story to make a point. I bet you haven’t given much thought to what icecream and blogging have in common, but that is about to change. Check out The Icecream Test of Content Quality. Ah… I can feel a story post coming on.

Coming Up at Grow Your Writing Business

Mary Emma Allen, from b5 media Home Biz Notes, where I did my guest post on Monday, will be a guest blogger here next week. Mary Emma is very experienced with hosting virtual book tours, and will be sharing some tips.

On Friday August 31st, we are hosting the grand finale of Glenda Watson-Hyatt’s Virtual Book Tour. Glenda is an inspiration. Don’t miss the interview. Keep an eye out next week for another progress report on my Blog Mastermind adventure with Yaro Starak.

I’ll also be making an announcement of a September Grow Your Writing Business celebration. You’re invited to celebrate too. Like any party… no, I’ll save it for the announcement… ;)

Shared Answers Lives On

Scot at Ten Keyboards did a wonderful round up of our successful Shared Answers Group Writing Project. His post also gave Laura and I some very useful insights from a blogger’s perspective, for our next project. Yes, there will definitely be another one, so keep the feedback and suggestions coming, either by email or in the comments.

Abdul, one of our group writing participants who blogs at The Copywriter, tipped me off to some great resources for bloggers. Here’s 300 WordPress tools to explore, and How to Win Friends & Influence People in Social News Networks.

It Wasn’t Funny NOW… But Then… - Another Group Writing Project

Lillie, another Shared Answers participant, has the group writing project bug, and has launched one herself. The theme is - It’s Funny NOW… But then… We’ve all had those embarrassing situations which we can laugh about now. So fire up those pens and support Lillie with her first group writing project. It closes on September 4th. Lillie’s holding a blog party, and you’re invited.
