Shared Answers 2007 - Group Writing Project With a Difference

Yes, it’s time to reveal the secret Laura and I have been teasing you with. Shared Answers 2007 is a Group Writing Project with a difference. As well as being hosted by two blogs, Grow Your Writing Business and Writing Thoughts, it’s a two-part (two post) project.
We’re asking you to share a problem, concern or challenge you’ve faced, and how you solved or approached It. And there’s a prize too!
We’ve deliberately made it open ended, so it can fit any topic and any blog. Approach it any way you like - e.g. work related, family related, serious, humorous, philosophical or anywhere in between. Feel free to use the Shared Answers 2007 graphic.
Shared Answers 2007 - The Rules
1. Each participant must post two unique posts.
2. The first post describes a problem or challenge that you have faced.
3. The second post describes how you solved or approached that problem or challenge.
4. Both the first and send post must link to the posts on both blogs that describe the project, and leave a comment on the post where you read about the project.
5. All entries must have both a problem or challenge and a solution or approach.
6. Maximum of one entry per blog.
Only entries that comply with all the rules will be linked to and eligible for the prize.
Closing Date: Wednesday, August 15th, 2007
Major Link Love x 6 … And a Prize Too
At the end of the project we’ll have a three day wrap-up at both Grow Your Writing Business and Writing Thoughts. If I’ve done my math right, in total you’ll get at least 4, if not 6 links to your blog. That’s lots of links going out to your blog. Plus, of course, any links which other entrants may give you if they choose to do a roundup or select posts they enjoyed. (optional). But wait, there’s more….
We’ll also select a random prize winner of a $30.00 Amazon gift certificate. Anyone who posts a blog entry can join in, wherever you are in the world.
Shared Answers 2007 - An Interactive Writing Project
Part of the fun of a Group Writing Project is reading other entries. We hope the Shared Answers will continue as you visit other entries and add your comments, tips and advice.
Help Us Spread the Word - A Personal Request From Yvonne & Laura
As this is our first Group Writing Project, we’re asking you to help us get it moving. The more bloggers who enter, the more potential links you’ll have to your blog, as many often do roundups, although this is not a requirement.
Will you help us spread the word? We’d love you to snag the Shared Answers 2007 graphic and let your readers know, even if you don’t plan on joining in yourself. We do hope you will join in, though. Vote for this post on StumbleUpon if you feel our group writing project is something you’d like to support.

My Shared Answers Posts
As a co-host of the Shared Answers Group Writing Project, I’m not eligible for the prize (drat!), but here are my Shared Answers posts.
Post 1: The Dilemma: What Do You Do When You’re Caught Between Two Rising Rivers With Nowhere to Go?
Post 2: The Solution: Caught Between Two Rising Rivers: How We Got Out of There

And it is closing on my birthday… maybe I should jump in?!
Going to join. I’ll do my best for this.
Hint: Probably about copywriting or my personal life…
Just vote this post in StumbleUpon. Wish it gains some additional publicity.
Sounds like a great project, Yvonne! I’ll have to give it some thought. Hmmm…
Best of luck with it! Hope you receive many, many entries–and many, many bloggers blogging about it! I’ll have to write a post about it as soon as I’m able to find a little time.
Thanks!
Jeanne
I stumbled this page too and added the “writing” tag so that it gets the attention of other writers. Have fun with contest. Question: Your end date is August 15, 2007 — what time zone are you using for the cut off?
Sounds like a great shared writing project, Yvonne and Laura.
I think Yvonne might be out of her office today. I don’t think she’ll mind if I jump in.
I’m pretty sure that she’d agree with me when I say that we’ll accept it if it’s still August 15th somewhere in the world. Once it’s the 16th everywhere the project is over.
Mig - Absolutely. We’d love to have your entry.
Abdul - Thanks for the stumble on StumbleUpon - much appreciated. Looking forward to reading your entry.
Jeanne - That’s wonderful of you to write a post helping us to spread the words about Shared Answers 2007. Pleased to hear you’re joiining in with an entry too.
Matt - Another stumble… thank you so much. You’re a champion! See Laura’s comment above the closing date/time zone. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.
Mary Emma - Hope you’ll join in. Would love to read an entry from you.
Laura - Thanks for clearing up the time zone/date… a bit tricky when we have bloggers worlwide, so we’re happy to be flexible.
Hi Yvonne,
Count me in!
Mike
Hey Mike - Great to see you have entered. I know lots of people are working on their entries, but I think you may be the first with your entry up. Hope lots of others will join in too. I look forward to reading your solution in your second post. Thanks for joining in.
Hi Yvonne,
My answer is now posted on Spooky Action. I hope you find it useful, and thanks for creating this contest!
Mike
Okay, I’m in! I’ll post out my entries sometime this week. Thanks for the invite. It should be an interesting string of postings. I’m looking forward to reading your responses.
Cool! I look forward to reading what you come up with. I agree it wil be an interesting cross section of posts. I can’t wait to read more.
Yvonne,
I have posted part 1 and will post part 2 Tuesday.
Hi Liillie - I read your great post. I look forward to reading the solution. Thanks for joiining in.
Just posted mine, I hope more will turn in their unique post tomorrow. I just hope they don’t forget there are two unique posts must be made.
Thanks for commenting Yvonne. I just made some grammatical adjustments (some grammatical mistakes, again) and I hope it’s good enough for your standard. I know I’m a bad writer.
Hi Abdul - Thanks so much for entering. Of course your posts are great. It’s about sharing and learning from each other’s shared answers Thanks for supporting our project, and for helping us spread the word - much appreciated.
