Wordpress Secret Advanced Toolbar
Did you know that the Wordpress Editor has a secret advanced toolbar? Well, it’s not a secret if you know it’s there, but I stumbled upon it accidentally, so can’t claim any credit.
I’ve noticed a few bloggers sharing the secret lately. I’d just assumed that I was the only one that hadn’t cottoned on. But just in case you don’t know about it yet, here it is. The good news is that it is so super easy.
Wordpress Toolbar in Regular Visual Mode

Press Alt-V while in Visual Mode, and hey presto - the advanced toolbar appears.
Note this works in Visual Mode only.

Now you have colours, underline, heading styles etc. You can even paste from MS Word.
How to Choose Code Option or Visual Editor Option as Your Default
In the Wordpress Admin Panel - Go to “Users”, then “Your Profile”. At the top left of the page under “Personal Profile”, tick or untick “Use visual editor when writing” and then “Update options”.

Lovely to see your here. Thanks for your kind words. I look forward to your next visit.
Carl - Woo hoo! It’s so cool to think I could teach you something, even someting small, with all your internet knowledge. Maybe I can pretend I am really clever to work all this out;), but truthfully, I just found it purely by accident. LOL.
Hi Yvonne. I also have a Wordpress account as a backup of my blog. Thanks for sharing these helpful tips.
You’re welcome Rach. Thanks for dropping by. I must say I am a big fan of Wordpress, so am keen to use it as effectively as I can. No doubt there are lots of tricks still to learn.
Neat, Yvonne. I’ll have to experiment. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mary Emma
Thanks for stopping by. There’s so much to learn, isn’t there, so it’s great to be able to share what we discover.
Hi, thanks for your great posts I’ve enjoyed reading you recently, good to see some people who enjoy books as much as we do!
