Grow Your Writing Business Receives Thinking Blogger Award

Rachel from Heart of Rachel has awarded me the Thinking Blogger Award. The award (well it’s a meme actually), originated with Ilker Yoldas of The Thinking Blog.
Rachel said -
Yvonne is a fabulous writer. My Aunt Princess referred me to her site to check out the flower map, a program on which you type your web address to see intricate web connections evolve. I’ve been a regular visitor ever since.
Yvonne’s informative site provides valuable tips and advices on how to improve one’s writing and overall blog content. She shares links to other interesting sites that she believes will contribute and strengthen one’s writing as well as sites that promote noteworthy campaigns.
Thanks Rachel. I’m truly honoured.

I’m awarding the Thinking Blogger Award to these fellow bloggers who have got me thinking.
Laura Spencer - at Writing Thoughts, who keeps me thinking about writing, and reminds me why I love it, from her virtual cubicle next door (even though we are on opposite sides of the world). She’s even popped over for a virtual coffee.
Mihaela Lica - at Ewritings - Public Relations Online who challenges my thinking with life’s big picture and what really matters - people. She urged me to write about Blogger Power to help safeguard the web for children, and asked me what I would say in my last ever post.
Char Polanosky - at Essential Keystrokes who has really started me thinking about the potential of my blog as a professional tool with her practical tips and tools for blogging, writing and business.
Easton Ellsworth - at Business Blogwire - creator of the wildly successful (and fun) Blogtipping and SOAP. Check out his blog. He’s an inspiration with his lateral thinking approach and business focus.
Tom Chandler - at Copywriter Underground. Tom shares great tips, advice and insights about copywriting and marketing. He always has something interesting to get you thinking. Plus he’s amazingly youthful and handsome. He says so himself.

Pass the award on to other bloggers who make you think. I don’t like to be prescriptive with memes, as every blog and blogger is different, but Rachel has posted the original rules if you want to go “by the book”. As a (now official) thinking blogger, I say do what you feel comfortable with, but have fun with it.
I won an award, so I get to make a speech, right? Okay, I still have the podium for a moment… so I’d like to say thanks to all my readers and commenters who add to the conversation and keep me thinking. You remind me why I love blogging and the sense of community.

WOW Yvonne! What an honor to receive this. I really enjoy reading your blog as well!
Hi Char
You’re very welcome. Thanks for so generously sharing your great tips at Essential Keystrokes.
I’m pleased to know you enjoy reading this humble little blog. I love to learn, read and write, and I also thrive on the community aspect, so I think I’ve found a great niche with blogging.
Yvonne
Thank you Yvonne! I am also flattered to be honored in this way. My favorite thing about memes like this is the personal connection - it’s so fun to discover or re-discover other people through the links and descriptions of what they do.
I’m grateful for many bloggers who make me think hard through their writings. Liz Strauss is the first one who comes to mind, but there are certainly many others. One of the keys to making others think is to ask lots of questions - especially original, probing questions.
Thanks again, Yvonne! Keep churning out the great posts here.
Hi Easton
You certainly keep people on their toes, with your blog and creative initiatives. You do it in a fun lateral thinking way, which I think is a real gift. I can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve to get us thinking next. Thanks for the reminder to ask “lots of questions - especially original, probing questions” to make others think… and yes, there are many inspirational bloggers, including the amazing Liz Strauss at Successful Blog.
Yvonne
Thank you, Yvonne… And to think I was about to award you the same prize…fot the way you ease the learning process by blending information and… fun… Hm… what should I do now? I’m puzzled. I guess it cannot hurt if you receive the same price twice. I’ve got one from Maria and one from you. You were ceertainly faster
You’re very welcome Yvonne. You really deserve this recognition because you generously share valuable information to your readers. It’s wonderful how you want to help others improve their craft and hone their writing skills. I’m glad you discovered new and interesting blogs through this nomination.
Congratulations also to Laura Spencer, Mihaela Lica, Char Polansky, Easton Ellsworth and Tom Chandler.
Wow! Thanks Mihaela. I’m flattered that you want to award me the Thinking Blogger Award too, and thanks for the feedback on the reason. I’m humbled and appreciative.

Hi Rach
Thanks so much Rach. You really made my day by choosing me for this award. I will do my best to live up to it.
Yvonne
Wow! Thanks! This is amazing. (Let’s do coffee again.)
Hi Laura
Virtual coffee was fun. Don’t forget we still have a virtual lunch date too. I just love that virtual calories don’t count. LOL.
Yvonne
Congratulations, Yvonne, that’s great. You do have a very informative and interesting blog.
Thanks Mary Emma. I love writing, blogging and the interaction, so it doesn’t seem like work at all.
