Who or What is The Idea Catcher?
Writers, especially new writers, often lament a lack of ideas. They ask “Where do you get your ideas?” I find this a tricky question, as I must be a strange breed. I have ideas spinning around all the time. Over at Writers Remember, where I am an occasional contributing staff writer, they call me “The Idea Catcher Columnist“.
Too Many Ideas To Handle
I thrive on being an ideas person. Pretty much everything I see, hear or experience, sparks another idea. In fact, I have too many ideas. Sometimes, too many ideas can slow me down, so, I’ve decided to give some of my ideas away. If you can use them, they’re yours.
The Idea Catcher Series
“The Idea Catcher” will be a regular feature at Grow Your Writing Business. Over the course of the series, I will share a diverse range of ideas relevant to writers - business, marketing, writing and more. I will also share ideas for article topics. As we go along, I will even suggest ways you can find and develop your own ideas… a veritable frenzy of ideas.
If you can find even one idea you can use from The Idea Catcher series, I would be delighted. You might like to use them as idea starters, to spark ideas of your own.
Watch for the first in The Idea Catcher series, tomorrow.

Hi Yvonne,
I like this great idea! I will be waiting for this series. It sounds like it will be a good one to follow.
In my reply to your most recent comment I forgot to mention that Stumbleupon is a great way of getting traffic to your blog. When a website gets Stumbledupon it is put in a que, and Stumbleupon users browse the que. I was Stumbledupon several days ago and saw about 500 hits in about 5 hours.
I can’t say too much about the quality of Stumbleupon’s traffic since it is much like using your Back Button to view web pages. However, at least users get to see your pages.
I Stumbledupon your piece on Blogger Power. If you have a means of monitoring statistics, you may want to take a look at them to see if you received any hits from Stumbleupon.
Take care. I’ll be back tomorrow!
Jose
Hi Jose
Wow - 500 hits. That’s fantastic. Well done. I still need to add all those sort of tweaks, like a stats counter, MyBlogLog and Stumbleupon etc., but you have given me the push I need, so I will look into all this. I used Sitemeter (free) elsewhere, and it showed how many pages a visitor viewed. Thanks for adding my article to Stumbleupon. I really appreciate that.
Thanks too for your encouragement about the Idea Catcher series. It will be a work in progress, and will develop, in part, in response to readers’ needs and suggestions.
I hope it lives up to your expectations. See you tomorrow. Ah… the pressure…
Yvonne
I’m looking forward to this series also.
Hi Laura
Thanks for the encouragement. I hope at least some readers will find something of interest during the series.
