Writer’s Personal Contract Meme
Personal Contract Meme - Get Real. Get Focused. Get Writing
Liz from My Year of Getting Published has tagged me for the personal contract meme. This is great timing to kick me back into gear with maintaining and refining my writing focus. Thanks Liz.

The idea is that you write a brief contract to and for yourself about your writing.
I vow to remain task focused, without losing sight of what is important to me, and why I enjoy writing. I hereby acknowledge that following ever broadening tangents and miscellaneous byways on the internet does not equal productive research. I will remind myself that taking time for me, family, my health and work-life balance, is not being unproductive or lazy, but is essential.
I will continue to share and learn from my fellow writers through reading, networking and professional development opportunities. I undertake to develop a more targeted, but realistic marketing plan, and to send more query letters more consistently through the year. I will explore new markets, and build on existing relationships with clients.
And to the procrastination monster, and his sidekick, the guilt monster, I will say “You’re fired!”
I tag Alyice of DM Speaks (The Dabbling Mum), Andy at The Struggling Writer, Lori at Words on the Page. Anyone else who wants to play (or work) is welcome to join in.
After the sometimes overwhelming and unrealistic nature of New Year’s Resolutions, I found it useful to distil the essence of what I want to achieve and believe in. I hope you’ll give it a go too.

Thanks for tagging me, Yvonne! What a great idea! It’s time I gave myself the same treatment I’d get as an employee elsewhere, right?
Back to work!
Oh, and I’m linking to you. Nice site!
Hi Lori
Thanks for dropping by. I agree, absolutely. In fact, make that the same treatment you’d give your top employee…
I think we writers deserve some pampering, and being kind to ourselves. Enjoy the meme. I look forward to seeing
what you come up with.
Thanks for the link.
